We are thrilled that the 5K Run/Walk is back and we’ll get to continue to support this great organization in person. This yearly event is very special to us as a company and was held in memory of Simplify employee, Geoff Sadler, in 2019. The 2021 Sherry’s Run 5K is held in memory of Cathy Carey and Al Ashworth. Cathy was involved with the Sherry’s Hope Organization from the very first 5K Run/Walk event. She was a huge supporter for many and loved being a part of this organization. Al was a multi-talented individual who inspired others with his passion for excellence and photography. He was a community leader, author, entrepreneur, and mentor to many.
What is Sherry’s Run?
Sherry’s Run started in 2004 and was named after Sherry Whitaker who had been diagnosed with colon cancer, ultimately losing her battle on May 12, 2004. A dear friend approached her husband and children with the idea to honor her and help fight against cancer. Year after year, the 5K grew so much that it turned into a nonprofit organization called Sherry’s Hope. The nonprofit organization operates year-round to offer financial assistance to families in Wilson County (TN) and the surrounding communities who are fighting cancer.
